More Sightseeing Around York

Continued from Part 2

Tuesday morning was Helen’s birthday, so we woke up nice and early to unwrap presents. Unfortunately, while pictures were taken, neither of us had put on our make-up, so they’re not suitable for publication. One picture however definitely needs to be shared, which is the birth of Juice Junior:

After a relaxing morning in the hotel, we took a trip back in to the centre of York for another walk around (there’s too much there for just one day). We found one of the old ruined churches by the side of a road next to a museum for starters:

Then after a light lunch, we decided to indulge ourselves with a Patisserie Valerie dessert. More walking found us again by the Minster, which was still unfortunately closed to the public. That didn’t stop me from taking more photos of the architecture though.

The River Ouse was very serene and beautiful too:

After lots more walking around, we found ourselves at Piccolino for dinner which was situated right on the river, just off one of the above pictures in fact. The food was fantastic, and the service brilliant, with the service staff all walking around having lots of banter with each other.

Full from dinner, we made our way back to the car, and retired to the hotel for the rest of the evening.
