Today we wanted to visit Tenby, and I wanted to go back to Laugharne to see the castle when it was open, so we got up, had breakfast in the AirBnB again, and set off towards Tenby.

Another Rainy Castle Roadtrip

After a poor night’s sleep on my part, we set off from the AirBnB a little later this morning, about 10am. It was already pouring with rain, so we made a plan to get Helen into some bookshops and cafes while I’d do explore more castles.

Rainy Castles in Pembroke and Carew

On Tuesday we made our way South out of Haverfordwest, over Cleddau Bridge and the Cleddau Ddu (river), through Pembroke Docks, and into Pembroke for the first chunk of sightseeing for the day. Once again it was looking like rain, so we donned our coats and walked up the hill to the town centre.

Winchester Cathedral and Wolvesey Castle

Our penultimate day in Winchester started in a local cafe called Josie’s for some breakfast. I had a full-American, Helen had chicken benedict with crushed avocado. A great find, delicious food, would definitely recommend.

Romsey and Southampton

On Tuesday, we had planned to go to Portsmouth to see the boats and submarines, but while eating breakfast we checked their opening times and found out the submarine was closed on Tuesday’s, so that would have to wait until tomorrow. Today, instead of Portsmouth, we decided to visit Romsey (a small nearby town), and Southampton, since neither of us had ever been to either.
