Continued from Part 4…
Our stay in York was coming to an end, Thursday was check-out day, and we reluctantly left the room to make our way home. One last stop on the way though; Harrogate.
We got to Harrogate just before 11am, and again it was a beautifully sunny day. The entire area looked so nice, we couldn’t help but look at the prices of the houses; all far too expensive for us!
Knowing it was going to get busy soon, we made our way straight to Betty’s Tea Room. We got to one of the last tables downstairs as the place was filling up quickly, and settled down with some tea and scones.
The view from our table was right out on to the park adjacent to the building, we got a table right by the window which was nice! The service was outstanding, and the food and drink exquisite!
We took our time and probably sat in Betty’s for a good hour before leaving. We bought some tea to take home with us and went off to explore the rest of Harrogate, by the time we left Betty’s, there was a long queue outside the door, so we’re glad we arrived when we did.
The rest of Harrogate was very nice, a very clean town with lots of nice shops and not a lot of empty buildings. It was nice and vibrant.
After another half hour or so, we decided to head home for a late lunch, arriving home finally at around 2-3pm.
You should have stopped at the original Harry Ramsdens on your way home. So heaven would be Betty’s tea room then Harry Ramsdens then finally a curry at Akbars
