Continued from Part 1…
After a poor night’s sleep, being woken up by some drunk lads trying to get in to our room at 2am, we had some breakfast and planned our day. The weather forecast was dismal, with heavy rain across the region all day. Not to be perturbed, we put on our coats, and headed out the door.
Moreton Corbet Castle, Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Castle, Dingle Gardens, Shrewsbury Cathedral, and Haughmond Abbey
Tucked away in the little village of Moreton Corbet, a stone’s throw away from the Shawbury RAF base, the remains of Moreton Corbet Castle lie at the side of the road. York Minster
Today we took a road trip up to the beautiful city of York. We set off early to arrive just as the attractions were opening, but even though I was outside York Minster as it opened at 10am, I had to stand in-line for nearly 30 minutes to gain entry. This is by far the busiest cathedral I’ve ever visited, with what must’ve been at least two coach-loads of tourists queueing to get in.

Accommodation: Premier Inn, Cambridge City East, Cambridge
For our first year Wedding Anniversary weekend, we decided on a trip to Cambridge, as we’ve not explored much of East Anglia before. We set off on the Friday night after work, arriving at our hotel at around 10pm. The Premier Inn stood in a retail park around a 30 minute walk from Cambridge city centre, it’s a basic hotel room, but is has all the essentials.
