Edinburgh and Edinburgh Cathedral

Arrival Date: 2011-06-17
Departure Date: 2011-06-19
Accommodation: The Ben Doran, Edinburgh

Unlike our weekend in Warwick, we left home first thing Friday morning after breakfast, driving for the best part of four hours, arriving around lunch time. After checking in to the Ben Doran guest house, we took the bus straight up to the city centre for some lunch and a walk around.

We found an retro American style diner in the centre called the Filling Station where we had an unexpectedly huge lunch, one of the best meals we’ve ever had! We thought after that we’d best take a long walk around the city, but first got side-tracked by the beautiful St Giles’ Cathedral.

Inside the Cathedral, there are a plethora of stained glass windows, plaques, altars, banners, and other beautifully ornate artefacts.

Far too many interesting pieces to take photos of, and definitely worth a visit as my HTC Legend smartphone and bad camera-hand does not do any of these justice!
