After a quick lunch in Cafe Rouge, we made our way towards Clifford’s Tower and the York Castle Museum, stopping off at a couple of galleries on the way. One of our favourite artists, Mark Braithwaite, has his gallery just down the road from the cathedral, so naturally we spent a little while rifling through his prints. Helen bought a couple of small prints here and we moved on.

After the Fitzwilliam Museum, we continued along Trumpington Street North towards the college buildings. There were cyclists everywhere, very few of whom obeyed the rules of the road (stopping at traffic lights, riding on the left, not riding on the pavement etc.), but this didn’t detract much from us admiring the amazing architecture on every corner.

On Sunday morning, the hotel restaurant was much busier than the previous morning, so much so that they sat someone on our table while we were up getting our food! But with the misunderstanding cleared up, our breakfast was just as tasty as yesterday’s, and we had an extra pain-au-chocolat for me and pain-au-raisin for Helen since it’s our anniversary today! Full of food, we set off in to Cambridge city centre to explore.

Our last morning in Dublin started like the others, with a big breakfast and saying hello to the lobby birds, but then we packed up and checked out early on to have one last adventure before heading to the ferry. We said goodbye to Bubble and Squeak (the lobby birds), and set off in the car.

After a few extremely busy days, we found ourselves exhausted this morning before the day began, so had a little lie-in before going down for breakfast. We wanted to spend some more time in Dublin today, so took the bus in, the 39A, from just down the road from the hotel, and arrived in Dublin mid-morning.
